A few clouds will begin to move across the area through the latter part of the day. Clouds may thicken up overnight with a rogue shower or two. Lows will fall back into the middle to upper 40s.
EXTENDED FORECAST: Our next rain opportunities will emerge Saturday with a suppressed system skirting across our area. A few widely spaced showers will be possible with highs in the middle 70s. Highs will stay in the 70s to near 80 Sunday with mostly sunny skies. Shower chances will re-emerge through late Monday, leading into a stormier Tuesday that could feature a few strong storms. Highs Monday will manage the upper 70s to lower 80s, 70s Tuesday with the rain chances. We’ll rebound back in the 80s Wednesday before a cold front sweeps through the area late week.

ALERT DAY: Strong Winds, Strong Storms Wednesday
ALERT DAY WEDNESDAY: Another week, another storm threat to emerge through the latter parts of the day. Our morning commute will just be warm, cloudy and trending breezy. Winds, even outside of any storms, could gust between 45-55 mph with highs in the lower 80s. Storm threat will gradually increase after 1-2 PM near the Mississippi River; approaching Metro Jackson by 3-6 PM and exiting our eastern communities by 8-10 PM. Damaging straight line winds are likely and a few tornadoes will be possible as this system shifts through the area. Skies will gradually clear after midnight with lows near 50. We encourage everyone to have a heightened awareness through the afternoon and evening hours.

TUESDAY: Sunshine will fade behind more clouds by Tuesday – but still featuring warm temperatures ahead of our next storm system due in Wednesday. Expect morning 50s and 60s to give way to afternoon 80s again. Winds will begin to pick up a bit today – gusting to 25-30 mph at times. A rogue shower or two could sneak in overnight, but we’ll remain dry with lows in the middle to upper 60s.

MONDAY: After a stellar weekend, the new work and school week will be a continuation of the nice, warm weather we’ve had. A mix of sun and clouds will continue through mid-day, turning a cool start in the upper 40s and lower 50s, giving way to afternoon 80s amid mostly sunny skies by afternoon. We’ll stay quiet and partly clear overnight with lows in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Quiet, Bright Spring Weekend Ahead; Storm Threat Now Looming Next Week
FRIDAY: We’ll trend slightly cooler and breezy behind our boundary for Friday – but with full sunshine, all will be well to round out the work week. Expect upper 30s and lower 40s to warm into the 60s to near 70. We’ll stay clear and quiet overnight with lows in the lower 40s.
WEEKEND PLANNER: Bright skies, seasonable temperatures will continue through the upcoming weekend. After a morning start in the 40s Saturday, we’ll rebound nicely into the lower to middle 70s. More sunshine and warmer temperatures return through Sunday – in the middle to, a few, upper 70s possible after starting off in the middle 40s.
EXTENDED FORECAST: Warmer temperatures will continue to filter in ahead of our next weather maker – due in mid-week. Expect highs in the 80s Monday and Tuesday amid a mix of sun and clouds. Our next storm threat looks to increase by Wednesday afternoon and evening as a line of storms treks eastward. Severe storm risk is in play; mainly from strong wind potential, though the risk is lower than Tuesday’s storms as of now. Most storms should be out of the area by Thursday morning. We’ll trend cooler in the 70s Thursday and Friday before another surge of moisture brings a bout of heavy rain by late Friday into early Saturday.

Quiet Pattern to Hold Through Late Week, Into Weekend
THURSDAY: As high pressure sneaks in from the west, our pattern will remain quiet through much of the day. Expect high clouds to mix with sunshine through the day with highs the upper 60s and lower 70s. A weak boundary may kick up a few more clouds and a few showers overnight, but most will remain dry. Lows will fall into the upper 30s and lower 40s again.

WEDNESDAY: As the storm system begins to pull away from central and southwest Mississippi – expect a gradual improvement in conditions through the day. Brisk westerly breezes will flow in behind the low pressure, helping to usher in the cooler air. Morning 40s will only manage the lower to middle 60s by afternoon as skies eventually turn partly sunny skies north; mostly sunny south. Skies will eventually clear with lows falling back to the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Expect the storm threat to increase through late morning, continuing through the afternoon & early evening. All hazards of strong winds, hail and a few tornadoes – some of which could be strong given the ingredients at play. Heavy rain of 2-5" will be possible that could lead to flooding concerns. Outside of storms today, expect warm, windy conditions – gusts up to 40 mph possible and highs in the 70s. We encourage heightened weather awareness through Tuesday – conditions will improve overnight as cooler air begins to filter in through mid-late week.

Morning Storms to Afternoon Sunshine Friday
FRIDAY: Showers and storms continue to wane through the remainder of the morning - trending quieter by the afternoon hours with increasing sunshine and highs in the 70s. Balmy breezes will kick up from the southwest, gusting to 30 mph at times. We’ll become mostly to partly clear tonight with lows in the 40s by early Saturday.
WEEKEND PLANNER: High pressure will begin to edge into the area through the weekend – though a few high clouds will mix from time to time Saturday – expect mostly sunny skies with highs, cooler, in the 60s. Upper 30s and lower 40s will kick off Sunday with full sunshine to push us into the lower to middle 70s to head into the beginning of the Spring season.
EXTENDED FORECAST: Looking ahead, we’ll get a quick ramp up in temperatures Monday, back into the middle to upper 70s. A few showers could sneak across the Mississippi River late Monday into Tuesday. Ran and storm chances increase again Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday. Another risk for strong to severe storms looks to emerge during this time with – all hazards of strong wind, hail and even a tornado or two not being ruled out. Most of the rain and storms should exit through Wednesday mid-morning, ushering in 60s for highs again by mid-late next week.
