Rainy Start to Veterans Day; Cooler, Drier Weekend Ahead

VETERANS DAY: Expect rain and a few storms to sweep through the area, mainly through morning hours. Severe weather isn’t anticipated, though a gusty storm or two can’t be ruled out near the line. Most of the rain will end through midday with temperatures topping out in the 60s and 70s. Skies will gradually clear from west to east through the day. Skies trend mostly clear overnight with lows in the lower to middle 40s.   


FRIDAY: In the wake of the first front, expect sunshine mixing with zones of patchy fog to kick off your day with temperatures in the 40s; we’ll rebound to the upper 60s and lower 70s by the afternoon hours. Our next front will slip through during the evening and overnight period kicking up a bank of clouds as it sweeps through. Lows will fall back into the lower 40s on the heels of a brisk NW breeze.

 
EXTENDED FORECAST: High pressure moves into the area in the wake of our secondary front on Saturday – highs will run mostly in the 50s to near 60 amid sunny skies. A widespread light frost remains possible early Sunday morning. Another front could sweep through Sunday afternoon, reinforcing cool air into early next week. We’ll go from the middle 60s Sunday and Monday – rebounding through the 60s to near 70 by mid-next week with rain chances remain near-zero.

Quiet, Seasonable Wednesday; Rain, Storms Return For Parts of Veterans Day

WEDNESDAY: A transition day – a mix of clouds and sun amid a southerly flow will help to push highs in the middle 70s again. We’ll remain dry through the day, though as clouds increase overnight, a few showers could make their way across the Mississippi River. Lows will be warm – in the middle to upper 50s. 


VETERANS DAY: Rain chances will quickly increase through the morning commute as a cold front approaches from the west. Expect rain and a few storms to sweep through the area. Severe weather isn’t anticipated, though a gusty storm or two can’t be ruled out near the line. Most of the rain will end through midday with temperatures topping out in the 60s and 70s. Skies will gradually clear from west to east through the day. Skies trend mostly to partly clear overnight with lows in the lower to middle 40s.  

 
EXTENDED FORECAST: High pressure moves over briefly Friday in the wake of the first front – a secondary push of chilly Canadian air will slip southward behind a dry front late Friday into Saturday. Highs Friday will be in the 60s to near 70; on Saturday – mostly in the 50s amid sunny to mostly sunny skies. Another front could sweep through Sunday afternoon, reinforcing cool air into early next week. We’ll go from the middle 60s Sunday to the lower 60s by Monday – rebounding through the 60s to near 70 by mid-next week.

Clouds, Sun and Mild Temperatures Continue of Thursday Rain, Storm Risk

TUESDAY: As the ridge expands farther east, changes will begin to head in our direction, including an increase in moisture, leading to a few more clouds in the skies through the day. Morning 40s will give way to afternoon 70s again; we won’t be as cool by early Wednesday as skies continue to cloud up through the overnight period – we'll drop only to the middle to upper 40s.

Another front could approach the area Sunday – reinforcing cooler air over the region to start off next week.

Seasonable, Bright Early Week; Rain Returns Late Week

MONDAY: High pressure continues to hold firm over the region. After another chilly start with a few patches of frost possible, we’ll quickly warm from the 30s and 40s into the lower to middle 70s amid an abundance of sunshine. Skies remain mostly clear overnight with lows in the lower to middle 40s.

Gradual Improvements Friday, Brighter Skies This Weekend

FRIDAY: Clouds continue to hang tough, thanks to a consistent light northeast flow, keeping clouds locked in place heading into the afternoon hours. More breaks will be possible through the afternoon hours with temperatures trying to creep into the lower 60s before the end of the day. Skies will continue to gradually clear overnight as lows drop into the lower to middle 40s. 



WEEKEND PLANNER: Sunshine looks to win out over the coming days as high pressure remains in firm control of the pattern through the weekend and start of next week. Expect temperatures to respond to the sunshine – gradually warming back to more seasonable norms through the weekend. Highs Saturday in the middle to upper 60s; Sunday in the upper 60s and lower 70s with lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s.  

 
EXTENDED FORECAST: High pressure continues hang over the area – helping to warm temperatures into the middle 70s; lows in the 40s and 50s through mid-week. Our next weather maker looks to hold off until mid-late week – bringing chances for rain and storms back into the fold. Behind that, we’ll trend much cooler again by next weekend.

Cool, Damp Thursday; Brighter, Milder Days Ahead

THURSDAY: Our rain system continues to slip farther south into the Gulf of Mexico. Behind it, cool air, clouds remain with highs in the 50s to lower 60s. Skies will start to clear a bit by the latter part of the day and continue overnight with lows in upper 30s for some; more areas in lower to middle 40s. In the areas where lows drop into the 30s amid clear skies and calming winds - patchy frost may be possible, generally north of I-20. 


 
FRIDAY: Skies will continue to clear through Friday – a bit chilly on the front end of the day will inspire many to grab a jacket to head off to work and school. Expect increasing sunshine to push temperatures into the lower to middle 60s by the afternoon. Skies will stay clear overnight with lows in the lower to middle 40s.  

 
EXTENDED FORECAST: Sunshine looks to win out over the coming days as high pressure remains in firm control of the pattern through the weekend and start of next week. Expect temperatures to respond to the sunshine – gradually warming back to more seasonable normals through the weekend. Highs in the lower 70s, lows in the 40s will continue to get milder – to the middle 70s by next week with lows creeping up as well. By mid-late week, a new storm system will approach, yielding a chance for rain and storms.

On, Off Showers Wednesday, Early Thursday; Quiet Weekend Ahead

WEDNESDAY: As the front begins to slip southward toward the area – expect clouds to be more dominant in the skies, leading to better chances for showers, especially north of I-20 to start the day. In areas north of I-20, we’ll likely remain in the 50s; while farther south, highs in the 60s will be realized ahead of the front. Rain coverage will increase through Wednesday evening / night with lows in the 40s. Rain will be generally light with no severe weather expected.  


 
THURSDAY: Rain chances will continue – mainly for the first part of the day as our storm system continues to slide past the region, mainly to our south. With that, the bulk of the rain will shift southward as well. Behind it, cool air, clouds remain with highs in the 50s to near 60. Skies will start to clear a bit by the latter part of the day and continue overnight with lows in lower to middle 40s. 
 
EXTENDED FORECAST: Sunshine returns into Friday with highs creeping back into the middle 60s amid a cool north flow as high pressure moves overhead. We’ll see sunshine push highs back into the 60s to near 70 Saturday and Sunday – lows dipping into the upper 30s and lower 40s. We’ll rebound back into the seasonably mild 70s by early next week with mostly to partly sunny skies.

Mainly Quiet Tuesday; Clouds, Chilly Rain Returns Mid-Week

TUESDAY: A cool start amid sunshine will give way to a mild finish – right on target for early November with highs in the lower to middle 70s ahead of a front that will gradually begin slipping southward into the region by Wednesday and Thursday. Farther north, clouds with a few showers will be possible at times. Skies will trend cloudier overnight as lows slip to the upper 40s and lower 50s.
