TUESDAY: A sluggish front will slip southward through the day - but not before offering a large spread in temperatures and weather conditions from north to south.
1) North of I-20: Showery periods with highs in the 50s.
2) Along I-20: Variably cloudy with a passing shower chance. Highs in the 60s.
3) South of I-20: Partly sunny, stray shower possible. Highs in the 60s to near 70.
The front will sag farther south this evening - offering up a better chance for showers near I-20 tonight into early Wednesday with lows in the 40s mainly.
MID-LATE WEEK: Wednesday will feature more clouds and another split in temperatures; running middle to upper 50s north; lower 60s central and lower & middle 60s south. Rain chances will return through Wednesday night into Thursday as our next system approaches the area with an advancing warm front. That will boost highs into the middle 60s again. Rain, at times heavy, will continue into Friday as the cold front moves through the area. Expect 1-3" of rain between now and Saturday, locally heavier amounts are possible.
WEEKEND AND BEYOND: We'll trend near normal for temperatures Saturday with lingering clouds before another quick turn around in highs by Sunday and Monday ahead of our next weather maker - likely to bring more rain into the area, potentially a few strong to severe storms by Monday afternoon. Still early - but it'll be something to monitor.
