FRIDAY: A few morning clouds will give way to sunshine through the day – expect 20s and 30s to start the day off, but we’ll stay chilly after a weak front moves across the area. Sunshine will push highs into the 40s and 50s through the afternoon hours. More clouds will sneak in overnight as lows drop to the lower 30s; a shower or two will be possible, mainly north of I-20.
WEEKEND PLANNER: A quiet pattern sets up through the upcoming weekend. Saturday will feature mostly to partly sunny skies with highs in the middle to upper 50s, by way of the upper 20s and lower 30s to start off the morning. Runners taking part in the Blues Marathon should be ready for the near freezing temperatures at the starting line. Sunday will feature a mix of sun and clouds, along with a chance for a shower or two – but most will stay dry. Highs will make their way into the upper 50s to near 60°.
EXTENDED FORECAST: Ahead of our next weather maker, temperatures will get into the 60s Monday ahead of chilly rains moving in for Tuesday. Expect temperatures to only manage the lower 40s Tuesday as the front slides in. As of now, we are featuring rain chances, though there is the possibility of a wintry mix if the cold air can meet up with moisture Tuesday morning. We’ll be monitoring this over the next few days in the First Alert Weather Center; at any rate, expect temperatures to run well-below average through mid-late next week.
