Mostly cloudy and cool this morning along with areas of dense fog and occasional showers; it will not ran all day, but plan on hit and miss showers throughout the day. Otherwise, highs hold in the low to middle 60s. A line of heavier rain and strong storms arrives New Year's Eve. A few storms will have the potential for damaging straight line wind, and we can't rule out the possibility for a brief tornado, mainly in South Mississippi. The main time frame for the stronger storms is mid-morning through mid-afternoon.
Colder air arrives as the new year begins; temperatures will struggle to reach 50 Wednesday and Thursday.
