MONDAY: Heading back to work on Monday will feature a quiet start with potentially a stormy end – expect a mix of sunshine and clouds to start the day off. Temperatures will make their way to the lower 90s. By the end of the day; scattered storms will be possible, a few of which could be strong with gusty winds and lightning amid heavy rain. Lows will fall back into the 70s with storm chances continuing.
TUESDAY: Keep the umbrellas handy – periods of showers and storms will continue as a front sluggishly pushes across the region. Expect mostly cloudy skies with highs only managing the 80s. Rainfall totals could come up above 1” for many spots with locally heavier areas.
LATE WEEK THOUGHTS: The front will stall just east of the region – keeping the forecast a bit muddled with partly sunny skies with occasional showers, storms. Best rain chances will likely be east of I-55. Highs will stay near or slightly below normal – in the upper 80s to around 90°. The front will washout through the weekend – allowing temperatures to get back into the lower 90s with hit and miss storms by Sunday and Monday of next week.
