TUESDAY: Another warm, windy day expected; after morning clouds, expect periods of sunshine into the afternoon hours. Highs will top out in the lower to middle 80s again with wind gusts to 35 mph possible. A few passing showers or storms will be possible, mainly for the afternoon hours.
WET & WARM MID-WEEK: A frontal boundary will approach the region by Wednesday, bringing an unsettled pattern with waves of showers and storms to central Mississippi by the afternoon hours. A strong storm can’t be ruled out but overall, severe weather threat looks to be low. We’ll keep highs near 80 on Wednesday. The front will quickly retreat northward through Thursday – we'll keep temperatures warm, near 80° with a chance of scattered showers and storms.
LATE WEEK: The upper ridge over the Atlantic will continue to pump in warm, humid air into the region – keeping temperature near 80° Friday and Saturday with off and on shower chances. The front our north will continue to act as a trigger to fire the storms off. A few of the storms on Saturday into early Sunday could be strong. We’ll see highs fall off slightly by early next week, but still well above normal for this time of the year; in the lower 70s Sunday and Monday.
