WEDNESDAY: Like your Tuesday; expect high clouds to mix with sunshine – after starting off with modest beginning in the 30s, we’ll warm back into the middle and upper 50s through the afternoon hours. Skies will clear overnight, allowing for lows to fall back into the upper 20s and lower 30s by early Thursday.
ROUNDING OUT THE WORK WEEK: After a chilly start to Thursday, mostly sunny skies will push temperatures back into the lower 60s by the afternoon under a dome of high pressure. The high pressure ridge will slide eastward by Thursday night and into Friday. This will introduce more moisture in the atmosphere, bringing more clouds to the skies through Friday. Highs will top out in the 60s Friday afternoon.
RAINY WEEKEND AHEAD: A blossoming Gulf system will bring better chances of showers and storms by Saturday. Heavy downpours will be the main issue – bringing 1 – 2”, locally higher amount possible through early Sunday morning. This will likely have a big impact on the Mississippi Blues Marathon that will be taking place Saturday morning. Most of the rain should exit through Sunday morning – leading to slightly cooler air to infiltrate the area. Expect highs in the 60s this weekend.
NEXT WEEK: Another seasonable air mass will find its way into central Mississippi to start off the next work week – keeping highs in the upper 50s and lower 50s amid sunny to mostly sunny skies.
