MONDAY: A cold front will bring a decent chance of showers and storms to the region to start off the new work week – grab the umbrellas as you head out the door; though you may not need them all day long. Expect showers and storms to be fast to move through – between 4 AM moving across the river and 12 PM exiting our eastern counties. One or two of the storms could be gusty – though the severe weather risk is low. Highs will top out in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Skies clear overnight as we fall back into the middle and upper 30s.
MID-WEEK: Expect mostly quiet weather through the mid-portion of the week; sunny to mostly sunny skies through Thursday with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s; a few chilly nights to near freezing early Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
TURNING ACTIVE: Temperatures will continue to be on the up and up throughout much of the week ahead – peaking in the middle 60s, though a blossoming Gulf system will bring better chances of showers and storms by late Friday; more so for Saturday. A few gusty storms can’t be ruled out before another blast of cooler air comes south to round out January.
