REST OF FRIDAY: A southerly push of warm air will come through, pushing highs into the upper 70s to near 80° for some through the afternoon. Expect mostly to partly sunny skies; we'll likely stay quiet through Friday night, though lows will only fall to the lower and middle 60s. Winds will continue to blow in the warmer, more humid air and, at times, will be aggressive with occasional gusts to 30 mph.

TALE OF TWO SEASONS: A strong cold front will slip southward into central Mississippi through the latter half of Saturday – bringing rain and gusty showers and storms to the region. Overall, severe weather threat looks to be low. Winds will continue to be a bit aggressive, out of the south / southwest with occasional gusts to 40 mph. Out ahead of the front, expect highs to make their way deep into the 70s, even a few lower 80s; behind the front, only managing highs in the upper 50s by Sunday. By early Monday, expect a light freeze for most, if not all, of central Mississippi.
NEXT WEEK: Temperatures will stay near normal or cooler than normal through much of next week – with highs in the 60s, overnights in the 30s and 40s. A few showers may make their presence known just ahead of Thanksgiving Day amid a mix of sun and clouds. A weak cold front will drop through Wednesday night, keeping highs in the upper 50s for Thanksgiving. High pressure builds in for Black Friday, bring temperatures back into the lower 60s for shoppers.
