Hot and steamy weather continues...
A batch of weakening storms is moving through Central Mississippi early this morning, north of I-20. The weakening trend will continue over the coming hours.
No real change in the weather pattern ahead of Independence Day; hot days and muggy nights along with isolated to scattered storms each day. Highs reach the lower to middle 90s with heat indices over 100 degrees at times. Pop up storms fire up each afternoon, including Independence Day; we're not expecting a washout, but be prepared for the possibility of a passing storm on any given afternoon. Storms that do develop will be capable of producing gusty wind, downpours, and frequent lightning.
