Tropical Storm Emily has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and is located near Tampa this afternoon. Emily will not impact Mississippi or the Northern Gulf Coast. The system will continue moving across the Florida Peninsula, then into the Atlantic.
Around here, dry through midweek with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s each afternoon and morning lows in the upper 60s to near 70. Fortunately, humidity levels will stay in check, keeping heat indices below 100. Scattered storms return over the second half of this week. Another cold front arrives Friday, bringing the possibility for storms with heavy rain that could continue through part of the weekend. Check back for updates as the weekend approaches.
