TORNADO WATCH UNTIL 7 PM FOR AMITE, PIKE, WALTHALL AND WILKINSON COUNTIES.
FLASH FLOOD WATCH UNTIL 7 PM THURSDAY FOR ADAMS, AMITE, COVINGTON, FRANKLIN, JEFF DAVIS, LAWRENCE, LINCOLN, PIKE, WALTHALL AND WILKINSON COUNTIES.
REST OF WEDNESDAY: Expect period of rain to continue to pinwheel into central and south Mississippi through the remainder of the day. With any land-falling tropical system, a small tornado threat exists along with the possibility of localized flooding concerns. Highs will top out near 80; falling into the lower and middle 70s overnight.
THURSDAY: Cindy will be making its way onshore in either SW Louisiana or SE Texas through Thursday morning; for us, locally; we'll be watching for more occasional squalls to pinwheel through the area. Some drier air may sneak into the area during the afternoon, bringing some peeks of sun too. Expect highs to be in the middle 80s.
INTO THE WEEKEND: Cindy's remnants and an approaching front will keep the weather soupy and unsettled through much of the weekend. Scattered downpours will be possible Friday through Monday as the front sluggishly moves through the area. Highs will top out in the middle and upper 80s.
NEXT WEEK: Behind the front, the weather turns more settled with mostly to partly sunny skies and near-normal highs in the upper 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
