Active weather continues, including the potential for tropical development...
Scattered storms are ongoing again this afternoon, producing heavy rain, gusty wind, and frequent lightning. Due to the wind threat, a few severe thunderstorm warnings are possible. Storms ending this evening, leading to a very muggy night.
All eyes on the tropics as a disturbance edges closer to the Gulf from the Yucatan Peninsula. Still uncertainty regarding exact track and intensity, but the possibility exists for the system to strengthen into a depression or tropical storm. IF it tracks farther east toward Mississippi, the main threat would be flash flooding late Tuesday into Wednesday and Thursday; especially over South Mississippi. Check back for updates. As the system continues to organize (if it does) we'll have a better idea on the details.
