Don't expect another night as cold as your Monday night – still plenty chilly; a nice warm up is on the docket for your Wednesday. All of this ahead of our next warm up heading toward the Christmas holiday.
TONIGHT: Expect partly cloudy skies with a few patchy zones of fog attempting to develop – low temperatures will be critical again tonight as we drop to near freezing along and north of I-20. We'll keep an eye out for any problem spots into the morning commute for Wednesday.
WEDNESDAY: After a cool start, we'll have a mild finish with highs sneaking back into the 60s for most. Expect partly to variably cloudy skies amid a light southerly breeze. This, all ahead of a weak cold front that will drop into the area late. Lows will be in the 40s to near 50 when you wake up early Thursday morning.
LATE WEEK: We'll mention a chance for a few showers in the southern parts of the area through Thursday morning, skies will generally clear out with highs managing the middle and upper 50s. By Friday, a dry day with highs rebounding back to near 60.
CHRISTMAS WEEKEND: Big changes are on the docket for the upcoming weekend for central Mississippi; highs by Saturday will rise into the lower 70s; we'll make a run for the upper 70s by Sunday afternoon. Both days will be variably to mostly cloudy with a chance for a few scattered showers. After Christmas, we'll be watching for a front to drop into the area by Monday or Tuesday – there is still some uncertainty on how much the front will affect the region. We do expect a slightly cooler air mass to come into the fold by Tuesday.
