Julia Weiden's Thursday Forecast
A Tornado Watch is in effect for many counties central MS until 9 AM!
Morning: Pike, Walthall, Lincoln, Lawrence, Jefferson Davis, Simpson, and Smith Counties are under a Tornado Watch until 9 AM. Heavy rain is moving through along with gusty winds and thunder/lightning. Temperatures are in the upper 60s.
Afternoon: We're expecting a lull in rain and storms through the late morning and early afternoon hours. This will allow temperatures to heat up into the low 80s. Rain and storms will then fire up again in the afternoon and evening hours. Some of these storms could reach severe criteria with damaging wind, hail, and possible tornadoes. This threat is a bit more likely for those north of I-20, but everyone on the map is at risk for severe weather today.
Friday & Weekend: A few showers may be left over on Friday, but we're in a clearing pattern. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s Friday with slightly cooler conditions on Saturday in the mid 60s. Sunday will be in the low 70s. Overnight low temps will be in the mid 40s.
