Scattered showers and storms are increasing across South Mississippi as of 2pm. A few of these storms could become strong with the potential for gusty straight line wind.
A line of heavy rain with strong to severe storms is located In East Texas, and will arrive in Mississippi late tonight and tomorrow morning. We expect the line to reach the Mississippi River between midnight and 2am, then the I-55 corridor between 3am and 5am. Heavy rain is the primary threat with totals between 1 and 2 inches, on average. We can't rule out some strong storms within the line, but due to decreasing instability the primary severe threat will remain west of Mississippi.
