Sunshine finally returned today, but clouds will increase again this evening in advance of a weak cold front. A few showers develop as the front moves through, but any rain that falls will not last long and will move out before sunrise tomorrow. Mostly clear tomorrow and Friday with comfortable temperatures; highs reach the upper 70s both days.
Our next storm system arrives this weekend and confidence is increasing that Halloween activities will be impacted by rain and storms. Rain increases in coverage throughout the day Saturday with heavy rain likely by Saturday evening and night. A few strong storms are possible, mainly in south Mississippi, but even there, the sever threat in low. Otherwise, some localized flash flooding is possible. This would be a good time to make alternate plans for Halloween that involve indoor activities. We still have time for things to change, and as always we'll keep you posted.
We're also tracking the possibility for a second round of storms on Sunday as an upper level disturbance passes through Mississippi.
