A nice treat ahead!... Slightly cooler and noticeably drier air is blowing in from the north in the wake of an August cold front. Temperatures are still hot this afternoon, but humidity levels are already beginning to decrease. As of 3pm, the front is located near Highway 84 in South Mississippi. And with cooler, drier air flowing in, it will feel pleasant by this evening and tonight as lows dip into the 60s.
A taste of fall Tuesday and Wednesday nights; would you believe we're expecting morning lows in the 50s?? Talk about a refreshing change! Otherwise, lots of sunshine with afternoon highs in the middle to upper 80s Tuesday and Wednesday along with a pleasant north breeze.
A warming trend begins Thursday, leading to a hot weekend as temperatures return to the low and middle 90s. Unfortunately, humidity levels will also increase, so enjoy this pleasant break while it lasts, because summer isn't over yet!
In the tropics, Danny has weakened to nothing more than a remnant low and is not a threat to the U.S. However, we are tracking a strengthening disturbance in the Atlantic that could soon become a depression, then tropical storm within the next 24 to 36 hours.
