(5.21.2015) Good Thursday morning! Some showers passed through yesterday evening as a cold front pushed across the state of Mississippi. Now that front is off to the south, but it's taking a while for us to feel its effects. The morning is on the warm side with temperatures in the upper 60s and partly cloudy skies. Humidity is still very much present.
We'll start to notice the cooler, drier air that the cold front is bringing in as we get into the afternoon hours. For one thing, the temperatures won't warm as much today. Our high will reach near 80, meaning the majority of the day will be spent in the 70s. As for humidity, that won't start to lessen until near sunset. Regarding the chance for showers and storms today, it's low end. Any showers and thunder are a little more likely in the southern portion of the state for counties near the Louisiana border.
Tonight's low temperatures will dip into the upper 50s under skies that are partly cloudy to mostly clear. Friday will be gorgeous in the low 80s with lower humidity and mostly sunny skies. Saturday will be fairly pleasant as well with the high near 85 and partly cloudy skies. The chance for rain and thunder returns on Sunday and will be scattered on Memorial Day with both days in the mid and high 80s.
