After a round of frigid temperatures and winter weather, warmer days are ahead!...
First, it was a bitter cold morning; Jackson tied the record low of 23, set in 1960. Sunshine returned today allowing afternoon highs to reach the upper 40s, which is still nearly 20 degrees below average for early March, but progress compared to Thursday. With a clear sky and calm to light wind tonight, temperature drop quickly, falling below freezing by midnight, then will remain below freezing for 7-8 hours as morning lows fall into the middle and upper 20s.
The warming trend resumes during the day tomorrow with highs in the low to middle 60s along with a good supply of sunshine and low humidity. Clouds increase Sunday in advance of a disturbance that will bring the potential for a few showers; we're not expecting a washout, but a passing shower is possible at any point. Otherwise, seasonably pleasant with afternoon temperatures in the 60s.
Longer term, the pattern remains unsettled into next week, but looks like temperatures will run close to average.
